Referral sources
Working With Employers, Attorneys & Agencies
We support organizations that require professional evaluations for the people they refer, with clear scope, clear documentation, and secure delivery.
Who we work with
Referral pathways we support
DOT employers & DERs
Refer DOT-regulated safety-sensitive employees for the DOT SAP Return-to-Duty process and receive documentation according to applicable federal regulations.
Non-DOT employers
Refer employees for an employer-directed workplace evaluation after a drug or alcohol test issue where federal DOT regulations do not apply.
Courts & judges
Order evaluations with a written report prepared for the court, in the requested format where possible.
Attorneys
Request evaluations before hearings, pleas, or sentencing, with clear turnaround expectations.
Probation & agencies
Send clients with supervision conditions or program requirements and receive reports through a secure channel.
DOT & Non-DOT employment evaluations
Two distinct employer referral tracks
Federal DOT requirements apply only to DOT-regulated cases. Non-DOT referrals are governed by the employer's own policies.
DOT referrals (DOT-specific)
- DOT-regulated safety-sensitive employees
- DOT SAP process under 49 CFR Part 40
- Federal requirements and applicable FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse steps
- Return-to-Duty process and follow-up testing plan
Non-DOT referrals
- Employer-directed workplace evaluations
- Company-policy referrals
- Failed workplace drug or alcohol tests outside federal DOT coverage
- Non-federal employment evaluation requirements

How referrals work
A predictable process for referring organizations
- 1Send the referral details, including the requirement and any deadline in writing.
- 2We confirm service availability for the client's state and the requested report format.
- 3The client books, pays, and completes secure intake in the client portal.
- 4The virtual evaluation is completed by video.
- 5The report is prepared and delivered securely with valid written authorization.
What to send with a referral
- The requirement, order, or condition in writing
- The report format or form the organization requires
- Any firm deadline, with the date stated clearly
- The secure contact or office that should receive the report
- The client's state, so availability can be reviewed
- A point of contact for questions about scope
Scope and limits
What we can and cannot commit to
Being explicit about limits protects referred clients and the organizations relying on the documentation.
